Our Mission

Educating the whole child to help each child reach his full potential is the primary goal of a Montessori program. The curriculum promotes the development of social behavior, control of emotions, coordination, and cognitive preparation for future academics. The curriculum provides experiences for the acquiring of knowledge, time for enjoying the learning process, and the joy that comes from learning, all under the direction of a specifically prepared teacher.

The specific goals for the child include the development of a positive attitude toward school and of a confidence in one’s self, building a habit of concentration, harboring a persistent curiosity, internalizing habits of initiative and persistence, and having an inner sense of security and order.

  Days and Hours

The school follows the Camp Verde Public School calendar, typically opening the first week of August and closing the Friday before Memorial Day.

Students attend five days a week from 8:30 – 2:30, except for 3 year olds who usually attend a half day program, leaving by 12:00.

Age Requirements

Children must be toilet trained prior to entry, usually around the age of 3. They can attend through their kindergarten year, usually age 6. To enroll in the Kindergarten program, students must be 5 years old by September 1.

Academic and Licensing Standards

The Montessori Children’s House meets or exceeds the required Arizona State Standards of Education.

The Montessori Children’s House abides by the safety and health requirements of the U.S. Public Health Services, department of Indian Health Service and complies with all applicable standards put forth by that department. Each class is taught by teachers trained by the Association Montessori Internationale based in Amsterdam, Holland, American Montessori Society or the North American Montessori Center.

Insurance

The preschool carries liability insurance as a business affiliated with the Yavapai Apache Nation.

Tuition

The tuition is based on the assumption that the child is enrolled for the full academic year (August through May). Tuition may be paid in full by the 1st of September or in 10 equal monthly payments. Even though the days of monthly attendance may vary (due to the number of days in the month, holidays, or absences of any kind), a full monthly payment is required on the first school day of each month. If a child is withdrawn, a refund for the remainder of the month will not be given unless withdrawal is arranged in the month prior. Tuition is $200.00 for the morning session. The all day tuition is $360.00 and the student must bring a sack lunch. Annual tuition rates are $2000 for the morning session, $3600 for the all day tuition.

Payments must be paid no later than the 5th school day of the month. Late payments must be arranged. A late charge of $10.00 will be added if the monthly payment is made after the 5th school day of each month. A fee of $10.00 will be charged for any returned check.
